This invitational ran the races by individual grades as they ran a freshmen race, a sophomore race, a Junior race and Senior race for both the Boys and the Girls divisions.

In the boys Senior race, Leland only had 4 runners and we needed 5 runners in order to score as a team, so we did not score as a team in this race.

Our top senior in this race was Sr. Nathan Lee as he ran a personal best time of 13:06 to place 19th. Sr. Varun Rao was our 2nd runner with a solid time of 13:43. Sr. Alex Kim finished in 66th place with a time of 14:59 to finish 3rd for Leland and our 4th runner finishing in 114th place in the race was Senior Dominic Wang as he ran a time of 16:55.

In the boys Junior race, Leland had 5 runners, so they were able to score as a team and they finished in 10th place out of 11 teams with a score of 257 points.

Our top Junior in this race was Zachary Fuselier who ran a time of 15:30 to finish in 73rd place. Our next Leland runner to come in was Aviv Yereslove and he finished in 88th place with a time of 16:13. Our 3rd finisher was Jacob Hsu with a time of 17:45 and finished in 116th place with a time of 17:41. Our 4th and 5th runners in the race were Tianyi Gao who finished in 119th place with a time of 17:50 and our 5th runner was Jr. Jonathan Stichnoth as he finished in 138th place with a time of 19:48.

In the Sophomore boys race, our team finished in 4th place out of 16 teams with a score of 178 points and they were just one place from getting a 3rd place team plaque.

Leading our sophomore boys team was Aditya Garg who finished in 7th place with a time of 12:48. Aditya won a 7th place individual medal by placing in the top 10. His time of 12:48 was the fastest time of the day out of all of our Leland runners for the second invitational in a row. Patrick Guzman finished in 29th place with a time of 13:55 and soph, our 3rd runners was Tyler Orth who finished in 41st place with a time of 14:08. Rounding out the top 7 for our sophomore team were Owen Widgery who finished 4th for our team with a 51st place with a time of 14:15 and our 5th and our last top 5 scoring runner for our team was Gabriel Rueda as he finished in 65th with a time of 14:42. Finishing 6th for our was Dean Gonzalez, he finished in 81st place with a time of 18:54. In 7th place for our team was Jeonghan Moon, he finished in 127th place with a time of 15:58. Our 8th finisher was Taylor Orth as he finished in 136th place with a time of 16:19 and 9th for Leland was Nathan Tewari with his time of 16:18 and he finished in 140th place. Finishing in 10th place for Leland in this race was GIdion Tan as he finished in 143rd place with a time of 16:33, Munqu Chung finished 11th for us in 179th place with a time of 18:06, Kyle Au finished 12th for Leand in 176th place with a time of 18:24 and Wolf Airhart was 13th for us as he ran a time of 21:50 to finish in 197th place.

In the Freshmen boys race, our Leland team finished 10th place out of 16 teams. Our team was led Brandon Nagatani with a 16th place finish with a very good time of 14:03. He was followed by Jasper Gruhl who finished in 16th place also with a solid time of 14:09. In 3rd place for our team was Aaron Jao he finished in 78th place with a time of 15:50. In 79th place and finishing with the same time was Ishayu Manral as he also finished with a time of 15:50. Our 5th and final top 5 scoring runner on our team was Ji Han Hsu with a time of 17:43. Daniel Tang was our 6th runner and he ran 18:02 to finish in 161st place, behind him was Rocco DePalma who finished in 170th place with a time of 18:21. David Oh followed for our team with a time of 18:35 while placing 175th. Just one place behind David in 176th place was Mohamed Foryoh as he ran a time of 18:41. Our two other freshmen in this race were Kai Chao who placed 185th with a time of 19:05 and Rohan Jiva who ran a time of 24:14 to finish in 208th place.

Our Leland Girls results at this Baylands invitational are as follows:

In the Sophomore race, Nao Sawaguchi won a top 10 finishers medal with a 6th place finish with time of very good time of 15:31. Nao’s time of 15:31 was the top time of the day out of all Leland girls competing on Saturday.

Our other three sophomores in the race were, Sayuri Lokeshwar as she finished in 55th place with a time of 18:49. She was followed by Rea Bambawale who finished in 65th place with a time of 19:57 and our 4th runner was Allison Guo, she finished in 91st place with a time of 23:23. Our sophomore girls did not score as a team as they needed 5 runners to score and only had 4 runners in the race.

In the Junior race, Saachi Basavaraju was the only Leland girl in this race, and she finished in 41st place with a time of 19:34.

In the senior race, Alyssa Nagatani was the only senior for Leland in the race, and she finished in 13th place with a time of 16:27. Alyssa finished just 3 places away from winning a top 10 finishers medal in her race.

Our boys and girls Cross Country team continues to make big improvements with each competition they participate in.
